When I first tried to do this myself, I had no idea what was what or how any of it worked. I did know a little bit about how to solder and that was it. This is how I …
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! I basically take 10 mins to tell you that all you need to do is copy the existing layout. You could redo all the pots and the entire guitar this way. 1 wire at a time, from old part to new part. Do that enough times and you work out what everything actually does, pretty quickly. TIP OF THE DAY: If a wire keeps jumping away from you, use your solder wire to hold it down, then take a swipe at the wire above the joint and it's released.
Hi, I have a Squier Strat and my strumming hand keeps knocking the volume. Can I assign the tone of all pickups to back tone knob, move the volume pot to the middle hole and leave the front hole open?
Any tips for a guy that bought a 25w solderer , which appears to be too weak, as I can't melt down the factory set solder no matter how long I leave the iron on there.
I bought a used 2012 epiphone sg400 pro 66 Pelham Blue 150$ American & yanked out a stem from the pot which is attached to a small circuit board & Im self taught too and when the new pot arrives I will have to do like you did is connect the dots and copy the existing layout
I know it's all about the tone so before someone tells me that looks dont matter I get it but I have always thought those lace sensor pups make strats look ugly
I got so tired of huge blobs of solder on pots, I took too soldering a length of copper de-soldering tape to the top of the pot and soldering everything to that instead of the top of the pot. lol

Please no singing.
Caution: If you change your pots, keep the old ones. It will greatly affect the 'collectable' value of your guitar in the future.
Put the camera across the table from you dummy. Half the video we see your hands.
Your HANDS are in the WAY…

As always, clear and informative! Great channel.

If I ever get a cheap Strat clone and install Lace Sensors, I'll make sure to watch this video first. 😛
Great video Nelson! Please make more instructional videos – particularly about setups!
