You can't develop a new strain using tc (maybe you can?). It's not really a market share thing, because they are fulfilling two different demands. Most people don't buy seeds to grow out and flower, they buy for the newly developed genetics(specific cuts tc is the way to go). On top of that, variation is a plus for a lot of people looking to hunt that next new pheno. For me I would get seeds, find something I like, and then run meristem tc on it to clean. Then just use a simple tc process for production.
